The member organisations of the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) gathered for the annual Asia Pacific Committee from 30 October to 1 November 2025, at Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, hosted by the Democratic Action Party Socialist Youth. United in our conviction that young people hold the power to demand accountability from their governments, defend democracy, and shape a just future for all.
Across the Asia-Pacific, we are witnessing the tightening grip of authoritarian regimes, deep-seated corruption, and the persistence of political dynasties that silence dissent and undermine people’s sovereignty. In response, we stand together to reclaim our democratic spaces and resist all forces that seek to divide and disempower our movements.
We emphasize our solidarity with our comrades in Myanmar who continue to face grave human rights violations and violent repression. We condemn the attacks on human dignity, life, and freedom—and we call on the international community to act decisively, not with words alone, but through sustained solidarity and support for those fighting for liberation and justice.
In times of political crisis and instability, leadership must come from the people and the youth. We call on our fellow youth and the international community to act collectively in the struggle for democracy and social justice. We also challenge governments and political leaders to break away from complacency and complicity, to enact bold and collaborative measures that strengthen democratic institutions and protect people’s rights.
As our democratic spaces continue to shrink, the Asia Pacific Committee calls for unity, and solidarity across movements and borders. Only through our collective strength and shared resistance can we build a future rooted in freedom, equality, and justice for all.
The Asia Pacific Committee firmly resolves:
-
To be in solidarity with the youth in Nepal and the rest of the Asia-Pacific for their fight for government accountability and against deep-seeded corruption
-
That IUSY Supports International Solidarity and Institutional Reforms Toward an Asia–Pacific Free from Overwork, referencing the “London Bagel Museum” incident in South Korea,
-
Protecting Gig Workers and Formalizing the Platform Economy in Asia-Pacific, particularly in Malaysia, India, and the Philippines,
-
Youth Mobilisation, Digital Freedoms and Political Accountability in Nepal and the rest of the Asia-Pacific
-
To Condemn Changes in to the New Zealand Electoral Law,
-
To Uphold the International Rules-Based Order in Protecting the Sovereignty of the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea,
-
To Prioritize Climate Justice and Fair Adaptation Funding in the Global Agenda Towards COP30,
-
To stand in solidarity with comrades and nations under oppression, particularly Myanmar and Palestine, with a view to seeing these countries free from occupation in the near future.
