Statement

Deeply concerned by reports regarding serious allegations, IUSY emphasizes the importance of ensuring that all related processes are conducted in full respect of the rule of law, due process, and fundamental rights. IUSY reaffirms its commitment to the protection of human rights, including the rights to freedom of expression, association, and peaceful participation in public life. These principles are essential to the functioning of inclusive and democratic societies.

In this context, IUSY encourages all relevant authorities to:

• Ensure the safety and protection of all individuals involved;
• Guarantee fair and transparent legal procedures, in line with international standards;
• Uphold an enabling environment in which young people can engage in civic and political life without fear.

IUSY stands in solidarity with the Swaziland Youth Congress and young people in Eswatini who are committed to constructive engagement, dialogue, and the advancement of democratic values.
