Collective right of return and international solidarity with forcibly displaced people

1. IUSY, grounded in the principles of internationalism, anti-imperialism, peace, and social justice, reaffirms its opposition to war, occupation, and all systems that produce forced displacement, genocide, and mass refugee crises.
2. Across the world, millions are uprooted not by accident, but through deliberate political strategies of war, ethnic cleansing, and genocide, aimed at erasing peoples, identities, and their right to self-determination.

4. * The Palestinian people have endured decades of forced displacement and exile, with millions of refugees denied their right of return as affirmed by United Nations General Assembly Resolution 194;
5. * The indigenous Armenian population of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) has been forcibly displaced from its ancestral homeland through war, blockade, and ethnic cleansing;
6. * The Kurdish people, across Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran, have faced systematic displacement, repression, and denial of collective rights;
7. * The Syrian people have suffered one of the largest displacement crises of the 21st century as a result of war, foreign intervention, and authoritarian violence;
8. * The Rohingya people of Myanmar have been subjected to genocide and mass expulsion from their homeland;
9. * Peoples across Africa, including in Darfur (Sudan), the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the Horn of Africa, continue to face forced displacement due to war, genocide, resource exploitation, and imperialist intervention;
10. * Peoples across Latin America, including in Nicaragua, Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti, and other countries in the region, have been forced into displacement and exile due to political repression, restrictions on fundamental freedoms, authoritarian governance, and socio-political crises.

Therefore, Be It Resolved That IUSY:

11. Affirms the universal, collective, and inalienable right of return for all refugees and forcibly displaced peoples, including Palestinians, Armenians of Artsakh, Kurds, Syrians, Rohingya, and displaced peoples across Africa.
12. Recognizes that the right of return is inseparable from the right to live in dignity, safety, equality, and freedom, including access to housing, healthcare, education, livelihoods, and political participation.
13. Condemns all wars, occupations, ethnic cleansing, and genocide that result in forced displacement, demographic engineering, and the denial of fundamental human rights.
14. Reaffirms unwavering solidarity with all peoples resisting dispossession and erasure, and with youth movements organizing against war, oppression, and imperialism.
15. Commits IUSY and its member organizations to actively defend refugee rights, advocate for the right of return, and strengthen international solidarity against war and displacement.
