Ongoing Violations of the Ceasefire and Collective Punishments on Gaza

July 2026 Mediterranean Committee
  1. Despite the announced ceasefire in Gaza, Israel continues systematic violation,
  2. through military operations, air and artillery strikes, and severe restrictions on civilian
  3. life, causing casualties among civilians, mostly women and children, and widespread
  4. destruction of infrastructure. Over 90% of Gaza’s population depends entirely on
  5. humanitarian aid, while most health and service facilities remain damaged. Limited
  6. entry of essential supplies, alongside the blockade and denial of water, electricity, and
  7. energy, constitutes collective punishment and violates international humanitarian
  8. law. The West Bank, including Jerusalem, is also experiencing escalating military
  9. repression and settler violence, including attacks on civilians, destruction of homes,
  10. and forced displacement. These policies reflect ongoing oppression, entrenchment of
  11. apartheid, and the undermining of the Palestinian right to self-determination,
  12. representing serious violations of international law and a direct threat to peace.

IUSY calls upon all member organizations to:

  1. Condemn Israel’s ongoing violations of the ceasefire and attacks on civilians as
  2. serious breaches of international humanitarian law.
  3. Demand the immediate lifting of the Gaza blockade, ensuring full
  4. humanitarian access and withdrawal of occupation forces.
  5. Support comprehensive international sanctions, including arms export bans and
  6. diplomatic measures, until Israel complies with international law.
  7. Promote the boycott of Israeli products, particularly from illegal settlements, as
  8. a peaceful and effective accountability tool.
  9. Strengthen international solidarity with the Palestinian people and support
  10. their legitimate struggle for freedom, justice, and self-determination.
