RESOLUTION OF THE STUDENT WORKING GROUPBecause education must not be a privilege, but a right guaranteed to all, regardless of place of birth, social background, or economic condition.

1. The International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) recognizes education as a fundamental human right and an essential pillar for the emancipation of peoples, democracy, equality, and peace. Nevertheless, we are aware that millions of children, adolescents, and young people around the world continue to be excluded from access to public, free, inclusive, and quality education.
2. Economic, social, gender, territorial, and digital inequalities continue to deepen educational gaps both between countries and within them. These inequalities are the result of fragmented and unequal education systems, processes of privatization, and the lack of international cooperation. Furthermore, armed conflicts, forced migration, climate crises, and austerity policies imposed on education systems further restrict effective access to education.
3. We are convinced that only through international solidarity, cooperation among nations, and collective commitment will it be possible to guarantee the universal right to education.
4. In light of this reality, it is imperative to advance toward an internationalist approach to education, based on solidarity among peoples, mutual support between nations, and the recognition of knowledge as a common good of humanity. Education must not be understood as a commodity or a privilege, but as a collective responsibility aimed at human development, social justice, and lasting peace.

Therefore:

5. We reaffirm that public, free, inclusive, and quality education is a non-delegable responsibility of States.
6. We demand a sustained increase in public investment in education, particularly in infrastructure, scientific research, technological innovation, and student well-being.
7. We call on progressive governments around the world to guarantee universal access to digital connectivity, recognizing the internet and educational technologies as essential components of the right to education.
8. We defend dignified working conditions for teaching and research staff, including job stability, fair wages, and opportunities for professional development.
9. We call for the promotion of a critical and transformative education oriented toward social justice, gender equality, environmental sustainability, a culture of peace, and democratic participation.
10. We demand the protection of the right to education in contexts of crisis, ensuring educational access for refugees, displaced persons, and populations affected by climate-related disasters.
11. We reject processes of privatization and educational indebtedness, defending education as a common good rather than a commodity.
12. The International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) calls upon all youth organizations, student federations, social movements, public universities, progressive governments, and international organizations to join efforts within a framework of active solidarity and mutual support among nations, recognizing that the future of humanity depends on equitable access to knowledge and the comprehensive education of new generations.
