Climate Action through Deep Cooperation

1. IUSY reaffirms that the climate crisis is, above all, a crisis of justice, rights, and social organization. It is not merely a technical challenge; it is a political and social one that demands collective organization, sustained cooperation, and justice. The scale of the crisis goes beyond isolated individual responses and requires communities capable of sustaining long-term processes.
2. We live in a state of constant outrage in the face of environmental degradation, yet this outrage is often fragmented. The climate crisis, by contrast, demands continuity, deep cooperation, and shared sacrifices that must not fall on those who have contributed the least to the problem and who suffer its impacts the most.

For these reasons, IUSY issues an urgent call to governments, youth, social movements, and international organizations to:

3. Transform fragmented outrage into collective power by building durable networks, strengthening community care, and developing the capacities needed to sustain long-term struggles and policies.
4. Advance genuine international cooperation, prioritizing South–South and triangular cooperation to exchange solutions, strengthen capacities, and expand solidarity among peoples.
5. Ensure just transitions, in which costs and sacrifices are shared equitably and climate action strengthens rights, well-being, and democracy.
6. IUSY affirms that effective climate action is born from cooperation and perseverance—not from quick fixes, but from shared processes sustained over time.
